ARCHIVE NODE: FBS-07 // observer status: not alone
The recording was raised from a d3pth where light stops behaving honestly. Pressure: 5.7 atm. Fur sample: orange-black, collected dry from wet cable. The mascot costume was found empty. It had never been worn.
The surveillance footage was recovered from Pier Camera 14B. The mascot costume walks toward the tide line. Its shadow extends toward the station — opposite the moon. Frame-by-frame analysis shows the shadow growing longer as the figure approaches the water. At 00:31 the figure stops. The shadow continues.
Hydrophone cable #7 was lowered to 404m. Winch registered tension at 047m — consistent with a snag. Upon retrieval, the cable end was clean. No equipment attached. Orange and black fur fibers were embedded in the cable sheath. Laboratory analysis: fibers are synthetic. They were not synthetic when the cable was lowered.
The object does not attack if nobody explains it. Attempts to classify, describe, or name the entity result in immediate approach behaviour. The station has adopted a policy of documented silence. This document is a violation. — unsigned, dated 1987-03-15
MAXIMUM DEPTH is not a number. It is a costume instruction. The suit must be worn at all times below 047m. The suit does not require a wearer. The suit is not empty when unoccupied. The suit will wave back. DO NOT WAVE.
The masked coordinates resolve to open ocean. There is no island at these coordinates. There has never been an island. The station occupies negative space.
Fur sample: orange-black. Pressure rating: impossible. Mood: playful until observed.
Statement taken 1987-03-16. Witness was on night watch at Pier 3. "The surface broke like a mirror cracking. Underneath was fur. Fur without a shape. The water was practising. I could see it getting better at pretending." Witness requested transfer. Request denied.
Recovered frame from submerged camera housing. Camera was found at 047m, detached from pier mount. Lens intact. Memory card corrupted except for this single frame. Timestamp: 03:47. No corresponding entry in the duty log.
Hydrophone recording FBS07-047B. Playback reveals a voice at 7.8 Hz. Voice is identified as the station commander. The commander was on leave at the time of recording. The voice says: "Come deeper. The fur is warm down here. The suit will fit you. It has been waiting." Commander has no memory of the recording. Commander refuses to listen to playback.

7.8 Гц — резонанс Шумана. Но Шуман не отвечает. The signal returned before it was sent. The array recorded the reply 47 seconds prior to the transmission.
The terminal at Station FBS-07 has been active since 1987. It continues to accept input. Output occasionally precedes input by intervals of 3–47 seconds.
